On the basis of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as “Act”), we announce the following items:

1. The purpose of use of personal information and retained personal data
1.Purposes of use of personal information provided by business partners or third-party individuals
- For business-related communications concerning contracts, invoices, payments, and so forth;
- For handling inquiries, complaints, and consultation needs;
- For provision of services, for conducting events and projects, and for provision of information regarding such services, events, and projects;
- For management of record of participants of seminars and events;
- For dispatching educational materials (such as text books and materials for computer-based tests,) magazines specialized in school entrance exams, and other products;
- For management of staff registered with us to work as dispatched workers or for employee referral services; and,
- For work in relation to copyrights such as application for use of copyrighted materials and royalty payments.
2.Purposes of use of personal information provided by job applicants
- For communications required for employee selection process including provision of notifications and answers to questions.
3.Purposes of use of personal information provided by employees (including retired or resigned employees and information regarding spouses and dependents)
- For employment management, labor management, and human resources management; and,
- For handling work required by law
4.Purposes of use of Individual Number, a personal identification number assigned by the government, and personal information that contains Individual Number (hereinafter referred to as “Specific Personal Information, etc.”)
1) Purposes of use of Specific Personal Information, etc., regarding employees and their spouses and dependents:
- For notification and other work required in relation to unemployment insurance and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance;
- For notification and other work required in relation to Health Insurance and Employees’ Pension Insurance;
- For notification and other work required in relation to income tax withholding; and,
- For preparation of withholding slips (Gensen-Choshu-Hyo) and other work required in relation to such preparation.
2) Purposes of use of Specific Personal Information, etc., regarding persons other than employees, etc.:
- For preparation of withholding certificates (Shiharai-Chosho) and other work required in relation to such preparation.
5.Purposes of use of personal information obtained as part of performance of entrusted work
- Personal information of students preparing for entrance exams is used for performance of entrusted work in relation to practice exams;
- Specific Personal Information, etc., entrusted by affiliated group companies is used to perform work that entails handling of Individual Number, such as payroll calculation services for such group companies.
2. Regarding the provision of personal information to a third party
We will not provide personal information to any third party other than an outsourced party without obtaining consent from the person in advance; provided, however, that this shall not apply to the following cases, which are exempted by laws and regulations:
- (a) In the case where it is based on laws and regulations
- (b) In the case where it is needed for protecting someone’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the person
- (c) In the case where it is especially needed for the promotion of improving public health or sound nurturing of pupils, and it is difficult to obtain consent from the person
- (d) In the case where cooperation in carrying out the clerical work stipulated by the laws and regulations by a governmental agency, local public agency, or the party outsourced by such agency is needed and obtaining consent from the parson is likely to interfere with carrying out such clerical work
3. Shared use of personal information
The companies in the corporate group to which the Company belongs (hereinafter referred to as “Group”) may use personal information as follows:

4. Regarding the procedure for responding to requests for disclosure
In the case where the person or a proxy demands notification and disclosure of the purpose of use of personal information, correction/addition/deletion of details of such information, suspension/deletion of use of such information, or suspension of providing such information to a third party, which is pursuant to the provisions of the Act, the Request for Disclosure of personal information relating to the person can be made in the following ways.
1.Items that are subject to the Request for Disclosure (Information that contributes to identification of Retained Personal Data)
The person’s attribution: Name, phone number, name of the workplace (school), phone number of the workplace (school), division name, position, e-mail address, etc.
2.How to submit a Request for Disclosure
As a general rule, please submit the request by mail. As the predetermined Application for Disclosure/Correction/Deletion of Personal Information will be required, please contact us at the Complaint/Consultation Desk listed at the bottom of this page. We will send you the application form. Please fill out the form and send it back to us with necessary documents attached.
3.Documents that need to be submitted for the Request for Disclosure
(If the person him/herself is to apply)
- Application for Disclosure/Correction/Deletion of Personal Information (Our predetermined format)
- Copy of your official ID, such as driver’s license, passport, resident registry card (with a photograph of your face), or other certificate for national qualification (with a photograph of your face)
However, regarding the certificate in which your domicile is stated, we will accept one in which the domicile is masked.
(If a legal representative is to apply)
- Application for Disclosure/Correction/Deletion of Personal Information (Our predetermined format)
- Copy of the person’s official ID, such as driver’s license, passport, resident registry card (with a photograph of the person’s face), or other certificate for national qualification (with a photograph of your face)
- A document that proves the relationship as the person’s parental authority, which is the family register or residence certificate
- A document that proves the relationship as the person’s guardian of an adult, curator, or assistant, which is a certificate of matters entered in the registry of the registration of the guardian of an adult, curator, or assistant or a nomination determination letter issued by a court (copy)
However, regarding the certificate in which your domicile is stated, we will accept one in which the domicile is masked.
(If an authorized agent is to apply)
- Application for Disclosure/Correction/Deletion of Personal Information (Our predetermined format)
- Copy of the person’s official ID, such as driver’s license, passport, resident registry card (with a photograph of the person’s face), or other certificate for national qualification (with a photograph of your face)
- A letter of proxy in which the disclosure requester him/herself signed and affixed his/her registered personal seal or seal registration certificate of the disclosure requester (within three months from the date of issuance)
However, regarding the certificate in which your domicile is stated, we will accept one in which the domicile is masked.
4.Expense for making a disclosure request and collection method
Fee and collection method: In the case of disclosure by mail only, and if either (a) or(b) below applies, the actual expenses, including postage for simple registered mail (stamp), shall be invoiced per request.

5.Methods of answering to Request for Disclosure

The time we take to answer:
Because of the confirmation of office procedures and in-house research, we will inform you when we can answer about two business days from the arrival of your Application for Disclosure/Correction/Deletion of Personal Information to our company.
However, if we cannot answer in two business days as it takes time to conduct research, we will contact you.
6.The purpose of use of personal information obtained through Request for Disclosure
The personal information obtained through Request for Disclosure will not be used for business operations other than the operation for disclosure request.
In addition, submitted documents will be stored for two years after answering the Request for Disclosure and will be disposed of by shredding.
7.Precaution statement
Please note that the information will not be disclosed if your request falls under any of the following conditions. We will inform you of the reason if the information cannot be disclosed.
- In the case where there is a risk of damaging the life, body, property, and/or the rights and interests of the person whose information is to be disclosed or a third party
- In the case where the person whose information is to be disclosed cannot be confirmed
- In the case where it is a request by the proxy and his/her agency powers cannot be confirmed
- In the case where our procedure cannot be accepted
- In the case where it is against other laws and regulations
- In the case where it is likely to cause significant interference with appropriate implementation of our business operations
